Snack Breaks from Term 3 onwards
Holistic Well-Being of Students
Snack Break 1
Currently, some stalls in the school canteen operate from 6.45 a.m. to 7.05 a.m. to allow students to have some light breakfast before the start of the school so they do not go through lessons on an empty stomach before recess.
Snack Break 2
Furthering that care for our students, the school will be introducing a second snack break from 11.55 a.m. to 12 noon, with effect from term 3. This is with consideration of students who may not get to have lunch until they reach home after school dismissal.
Students may bring light, healthy snacks with them or buy them at the school canteen during recess which they can consume in class during the break. Examples of such snacks are cereal/oatmeal/wheat biscuits, fruits such as apples and bananas, energy bars, nuts.
As part of the holistic education at Mee Toh, the experience will also provide an opportunity to promote a stronger sense of belonging and emphasise the importance of responsibility in keeping the classrooms clean and free from pests. As a whole-school effort and guided by their teachers, the students will take ownership in ensuring good hygiene practices to keep their classrooms clean and conducive for learning e.g. proper disposal of the fruit peels and wrappers from the consumption of the snacks.
